New Polyolefin Hot Melt Technology For Edged Boards

3 October 2016  |

This month we are featuring a new Polyolefin Hot Melt Technology for Edge Banding, an alternative superior adhesive to EVA technology. The product is RAKOLL® TE 5728 by HB Fuller.

The main advantages the product offers are as follows:

  • Superior yields per kilogram achievable through low coat weights for a wide variety of edgebanding materials ABS, PVC, Melamines, Veneers etc
  • Ultra thin glue line for minimum colour break between edging and board surface colour
  • Extremely High Softening Point of 127°C
  • Out-performs conventional EVA based edgebanding adhesives with its hydrolysis properties
  • Instead of vast capital investment on edgebanding equipment for using polyurethane adhesives, TE 5728 can run on conventional edgebanding equipment
  • Clean running adhesive due to its thermal stability in the tank, reducing maintenance downtime bills for repairs and part replacement costs for spare parts such as elements

The product is sold in 25kg bags.
