The Impact of COVID-19

Ever since Covid-19 struck the Irish shores the vast majority of workers have been forced to work from home.

Some 83% of the 7,241 respondents to a recent new survey want to continue working from home at least some of the time, with 12% wanting to do so daily.

42% said they would like to do so several times per week and 29% said they want to work remotely several times per month.

The benefits being the absence of a commute, greater flexibility in managing the working day and a reduced personal cost.

This has led to an increasing demand for work from home solutions, with many employers compensating employees for home office fitouts.

These companies have recognised that ergonomic workstations help to keep people in good health and boost work productivity. Alternating work posture between sitting and standing is an effective way to prevent mental fatigue, whilst also avoiding back pain and other physical conditions.

6 Benefits of Using a Height Adjustable Desk:

Height adjustable desks have been available for many years although they are becoming more popular as people realise the benefits a height adjustable desk has for the body and mind. Studies show that people who sit for long periods at work are more susceptible to heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and a shorter life expectancy.

By standing for as little as 30 minutes at a time a couple of times a day it can have a massive impact on your general health and it’s not difficult to do once you have the right equipment;

Height adjustable desks have proven tangible benefits such as:

  1. Reduce back pain.
  2. Lower the risk of heart disease.
  3. Lower the risk of weight gain and obesity.
  4. Lower blood sugar levels and risk of type 2 diabetes.
  5. Improve mood & gain energy.
  6. Boost productivity.

When standing desk users were surveyed, 87% of participants felt more comfortable, 87% felt energised, 75% felt healthier, 71% felt more focused, 66% felt more productive, 62% felt happier, and 33% felt less stressed as a result of having a height adjustable desk.
